Chapter 4 · Tavern trading

By the winter of 1636, nobody in Haarlem traded bulbs in the fields any more. They traded them in taverns, at night, over beer. A weaver could walk in with nothing and walk out owning a flower he would never see. So who was actually holding the bulbs?Q2 raised

Running order

Three segments. Each one does a job your viewer will feel but never notice.

01Loop Graph

See the structure that keeps people watching.

Every question your script raises is drawn as a line to the passage that answers it. Delete a payoff and the question turns red right away. Reorder sections and you'll see if an answer now lands before its question.

  • Scrub the timeline to see what the viewer is holding at any minute
  • Flags questions that are never answered, or forgotten for too long
  • Edit every link by hand; the analysis never overwrites your changes

Every name and number, traced to your research.

Paste your research notes and ScriptFlow flags any name, date or figure in the script that doesn't appear in them. When a draft needs a detail you haven't supplied, it writes [VERIFY: …] instead of inventing one.

Stock AI phrases, repeated passages, flat sentence rhythm, and wording you've already used in your channel's other scripts are all flagged as you write. Fix them one at a time, or rewrite them in a batch and review every change before it lands.

The red pen

Edit out the AI tells.

AI drafts give themselves away with the same habits again and again. ScriptFlow marks every one as you write, fixes them in a batch, and checks each fix so it doesn't bring in new ones.

In the winter of 1637, the taverns of Haarlem were packed with men trading flowers they had never seen. A single bulb could buy a canal house. Then, one cold morning, a buyer didn't show up.

Cue sheet

Everything else between the brief and the voiceover booth.

  1. Plan with structure first

Six templates for mystery, rise and fall, countdown, explainer, true crime and calm long-form, with loops planned before any prose.

  2. Real retention, on the story

Import a published video's retention CSV. Each drop appears next to the passage and the questions viewers were holding at that moment.

  3. Hook Lab

Five alternative openings in different techniques, each measured for length, concreteness and stock phrasing.

  4. Titles and chapters

Title options with length checks, and valid YouTube chapters generated from your sections.

  5. Channel voice

Learns sentence rhythm and structure from reference scripts, and blocks any passage that copies their wording.

  6. Voiceover-ready export

TTS text with numbers spelled out, split to your tool's limit, plus an editor cue sheet and Markdown.

The meter is off.

Most AI script tools charge credits per word, so a three-hour script can use up a month of credits. Long scripts shouldn't cost more to write.

Open loops

Questions people ask before buying. Open one to pay it off.

Q1What does "bring your own key" mean, and what will AI cost me?

You create an OpenRouter account and paste its API key into ScriptFlow. AI requests go straight from your browser to OpenRouter, which bills you at the model's published price. You pick the model per task, and the app shows estimated cost before drafting and enforces a spend cap you set. Every structural check (loops, facts, repetition, readiness) runs locally and costs nothing.

Q2Where are my scripts stored?

The app works from a copy in your browser, so it stays fast and works offline. Scripts, channels and reference scripts are also synced to your account, so they appear on every device where you activate your license and come back if you clear your browser. Your API key never leaves your device. You can turn sync off per device in Settings, and download a full backup any time.

Q3Does it work offline?

Yes. Writing, all local checks, the Loop Graph, exports and backups work offline. AI features need a connection. Your license re-verifies automatically when you're online and stays valid for 30 days offline.

Q4How many devices can I use?

Up to 3 browsers or computers per license. You can sign devices out yourself from Settings, or from the activation screen if you've reached the limit.

Q5Will this get my scripts past AI detectors or keep my channel monetized?

No tool can promise either, and we don't. ScriptFlow helps you write scripts with clear structure, traceable facts and less templated phrasing. Monetization decisions are YouTube's.

Q6Is the Retention Map a prediction of my retention?

No. It shows editorial signals read from the text. Real retention needs real viewers: import your published video's retention CSV to see it aligned with the script.

Q7Which languages are supported?

English. The phrase lists, rhythm checks and narration-speed estimates are built for English narration.

Q8Can I get a refund?

See the refund policy. Refunded licenses are deactivated automatically.
